pumpkin patch and signFall is here! October is full of fun things to do as a family, you just need to know where to look! Here’s a list to help with your planning.

Fifer Fall FestivalFifer Farm and Country Store. Camden-Wyoming, De. 302-697-2141. Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm. Corn Maze Fun Park: Corn maze, straw slides, games, pumpkin painting, and more. Saturday only extras: Hayrides, barrel train rides, farm animal exhibit, pony rides, and much more. U-pick apples Friday & Saturday during apple harvest. U-Pick Pumpkins Monday-Saturday during pumpkin harvest. 

Boo! At the Zoo!3 Palms Petting Zoo. Clayton, De. 302-715-1326. Friday & Saturday 7pm-9pm. Take a walk through the zoo after dark. There’s a graveyard, scarecrows, pumpkins, and more. “Spooky, NOT scary, family friendly, and great for kids.”

Boo at the Zoo!Brandywine Zoo. Wilmington, De. 302-571-7747. Friday Oct. 23rd. 5pm-7:30pm, Saturday Oct. 24th. 5pm-7:30pm. Trick-or-Treat at the zoo!

Ramsey’s Farms – Ramsey’s Farms. Wilmington, De. 302-477-1499. “Pumpkins, hayrides, mazes, tours, & learning”. Check out their website for details!

Delaware State Parks – Many Delaware State Parks offer hayrides followed by campfires for groups or individuals! This includes Bellevue, Brandywine Creek, Killens Pond, Lums Pond, Trap Pond, and White Clay Creek. Check out the link for a full list and schedules!

Fall Festival WeekendsMilburn’s Orchards. Elkton, Md. 410-398-1349. Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm. Hayrides, pumpkins, corn maze, Boo barn (for kids of all ages), and much more!  U-Pick Apples and Raspberries also available! In celebration of the fall harvest, the BarnYard has a special theme for each weekend including Autumn Colors Weekend (Oct. 17th & 18th), Trick or Treat Weekend (Oct. 24th & 25th), and Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend (Oct. 31st & Nov. 1st). There are plenty of vendors available if you get hungry! They also now offer pavillion or tent rentals for parties!

Autumn Moon Hayrides and bonfire – Oct. 9th-30th. Monday-Thursday 6pm & 7pm, Friday-Sunday 6pm-8pm.

Hayrides to Witches House – Oct. 9th-30th. 5:30pm-8pm, Friday & Saturday 5:30pm-8:30pm.

Pick Your Own Fall Apples– 8am-7pm (or dusk, if earlier)

Train Rides – Monday-Friday 12:30pm-4pm, Saturday & Sunday 12pm-5pm.

Pony Rides – Saturday & Sunday 12pm-5pm.

Face Painting – Monday-Friday, 10:30am-3:30pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am-6pm.

Straw Bale Maze – Monday-Friday 11am-5pm, Saturday & Sunday 10am-6pm.

Corn Field Maze  – Saturday & Sunday 10am-5pm.

Apple Sling – Monday-Friday 11am-5pm

Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treat – Main St. Newark, De. 302-366-7060. Sunday, October 25th. Parade starts at 3pm, Trick-or-Treating follows from 4-5pm.
